Childhood Memoir

(Poem for Children)
Featured in Misty Mountain Review http://mistymountainreview.blogspot.com/

Those were the days
When we used to herd the goats
In the plains in front of the house
Sometimes by the river, sometimes in the woods

Friends were jolly
Spirit very high
Fun was swimming too
Never had reason to sigh

Never were the days the same
All full of adventure
Prairie, vale and the river basin
The only official prefecture
Leopards were the enemies
Rest the kin and kith
Vividly I remember it
Others may call now myth

Bygone days were so pleasing
Only make me much nostalgic
I am a grown up now
Stunned by reason and logic

Give me those days again
Which make me a child
A big no to hectic life
These memories soothing and mild

Thank you dear Ma and Pa

(Poem for Children)

My second home was my school
Pleasing and cool
Went everyday for 10 years
Which made me a sage from a fool
Thank you dear ma and pa

Carrying the heap of books
Ragged was the back
Never felt tired
It was the hiker's pack
Thank you dear ma and pa

Papa sang the songs
Mama told the tales
Days were so quizzical
Be it at home or in the dales
Thank you dear ma and pa

Songs taught me rhythm
To laugh and enjoy
Tales made me bold enough
To keep up the joy
Thank you dear ma and pa

They never scolded me
No matter what silly things I did
Catered for my all emotions
Ever ready hands to feed
Thank you dear ma and pa

Thank you dear ma and pa
Giving me this life
Live it with the fullest
Never harboring a strife
Thank you dear ma and pa
